An Uplifting Video on Assistive Technology

This video dates from 2005, but I feel that in many ways, the situation in Ireland isn’t there yet.

  1. What an interesting video. It just shows the impact the right AT can have on a persons life. I was particularly interested in the adapted euphonium which enabled the student to fulfil his musical potential, as I too was a member of a concert band during my teenage years. While I’ve seen wind instruments selected to suit students with particular needs ( eg. trumpet for student with one hand, trombone/euphonium for students with missing fingers) I’ve never come across an instrument adapted in this way. A lovely story.

  2. I agree with Ciara, it’s an inspiring video. It video shows how AT can have such a positive impact on someones life. It can really give people the opportunity to follow their dreams and passions. I can’t believe that someone stole that boys modified horn, however it was fantastic that the community got together to replace it for him.
